Google Earth install on Ubuntu 14.04

It’s google-earth-stable ( and installs on 13.10, too. IT World has a simple recipe to Install Google Earth in Ubuntu 14.04 using a .deb file from for 32 bit or for 64 bit systems. It works for 13.10 as well.

For 64 bit systems, dependencies are libc6:i386 and lsb-core that you need to install first. (see How to install Google-Earth 64bit in Ubuntu 13.10, ia32-libs Dependency error at libc6 is the embedded GNU C 32 bit shared library for AMD64. lsb-core is the Linux Standard Base core support package. These are needed because google earth is inherently 32 bit and uses an ISO standard for the Linux software interface.
